Jesus Gives Life

 2 Kings 22; 2 Chronicles 34; John 6

“For the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world…then Jesus declared, ‘I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.’”

John 6:33, 35

There is lots of religious food being served today over the internet, in books, and in worship services. But only by coming to Jesus will we find life that is satisfying. To come to Jesus, unmediated by anyone else, we bring all we are to him. He alone is the way, the truth, and the life. As we humble ourselves at his feet, repenting for looking for life in other places, he lifts us up and gives us himself. In Christ are forgiveness, dignity, identity, purpose, hope, and a future that is eternal. There is life beyond religious services that is only found in the presence of the Lord. If the routine of religion has left us empty, and we are still hungry and thirsty for more, Jesus invites us to himself.

“Lord Jesus, you are my life and you satisfy my hunger and thirst, for your glory.”
