Christ’s Kingdom Come

Isaiah 1-3; Titus 3

“This is what Isaiah son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem: In the last days the mountain of the Lord’s temple will be established as chief among the mountains;…and all nations will stream to it…He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths…He will judge between the nations and will settle disputes for many peoples. They will beat their swords into ploughshares…”

Isaiah 2:1-4

Isaiah’s vision of Jerusalem in the last days describes a global capital of influence and worship. The glorified Lord Jesus Christ will rule and reign over the nations of the earth. In Jerusalem the nations will learn God’s ways and settle their disputes. The apostles believed the fulfillment of this Scripture was what Christ was bringing at his first coming. They couldn’t see the deep valley of several thousand years between Christ’s first and second coming. They couldn’t see the destruction of Jerusalem, and then two thousand years later, the return of Jews from around the world to rebuild Jerusalem again. We live in anticipation of Christ’s second coming and for this prophetic vision to be fulfilled.

As citizens of Christ’s kingdom now, are we learning his ways and living as ambassadors of his peace?

This is the hope of all nations and the only peace plan that will endure.

“Lord Jesus, you are our peace. Fill me with your Spirit and vision for your kingdom to come and your will to be done on earth as it is in heaven.”
