The Path of Peace
Genesis 1-2; Luke 1
“…by which the rising sun will come to us from heaven to shine on those living in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the path of peace.”
Luke 1:78, 79
What path will we choose to walk in this year?
In a society of unparalleled technological advances and material comforts, most people still live in spiritual darkness and the shadow of death. Jesus entered this world with the brilliance of the rising sun to give us direction for a better way to live life and the power to experience that life. With light comes understanding and the opportunity to choose a better path of peace. Jesus came to redeem us from our sin and restore peace with God so we could experience this peace, and then invite others to walk with us on the path of peace. Israel’s context at the first coming of Christ was the occupation of the Roman Empire. Our context for Christ’s second coming is the global specter of war, terrorism, and natural disasters. Many people long to find the path of peace.
Will we choose to walk this path, regardless of the cost, and call others to experience peace and walk with us this year?
“Lord Jesus, you are the Prince of Peace and the Light of the Word. My hope is in you this year, for your glory.”
