Walking with God
Genesis 3-5; Luke 2
“Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden. But the Lord God called to the man, ‘Where are you?’ He answered, ‘I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.’”
Genesis 3:8-10
God’s heart is to still walk with us. Like Adam, God pursues us and asks, “Where are you?”
Where are we relative to God?
As we begin a new year, who will we choose to walk with?
Adam and Eve hid from God because of the shame of their sin.
In what ways are we hiding from God because of our sin and shame?
Still, God pursues us in Christ. The forgiving, pursuing love of God is stronger than the shame of sin.
Who in our lives needs to receive that message today?
Will we be the hands and feet of Christ in pursuing and walking with those weighed down by shame?
Will we bare our hearts and lives before God in worship and fellowship, trusting his love for us is greater than our sin?
“Lord Jesus, thank you for pursuing me and walking with me, for your glory.”
