This is from the Lord

Genesis 23-24; Luke 9

“Laban and Bethuel answered, ‘This is from the Lord; we can say nothing to you one way or the other. Here is Rebekah; take her and go, and let her become the wife of your master’s son, as the Lord has directed.’”

Genesis 24:50, 51

Both Laban and Bethuel could see the hand of God directing Abraham’s servant to their daughter Rebekah. This clear testimony strengthened the faith of all who heard this story. Our faith today is strengthened as we read this story. God directed this servant’s mission and answered prayer. He will direct our mission and answer our prayers as well as we take our direction from him. Reflect on the past year and the ways we have seen God guide and orchestrate events to strengthen our faith and remind us this is his story (history) we are participating in. One of the ways we worship God is by remembering his faithfulness to us and saying thank you.

“Lord God, you have been faithful in confirming your direction and leading this past year, for your glory. Thank you.”
