Protected by the Anointing Hand of the Lord

 2 Samuel 10; 1 Chronicles 20; Psalms 20; Matthew 22

“May the Lord answer you when you are in distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you. May he send you help from the sanctuary and grant you support from Zion…Now I know that the Lord saves his anointed; he answers him from his holy heaven with the saving power of his right hand. Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.”

Psalm 20:1, 2, 6, 7

What we do and where we go when we are in the distress of a test, a trial, or a significant challenge, reveals our true belief system. When we cry out to the living God in the sanctuary of heaven through the blood of Christ and the intercession of the Holy Spirit, we experience the right hand of God. Some trust in chariots and horses to deliver them. Israel was continually delivered by the sovereign hand of God when they cried out to him.

Will we rely on the world’s resources and ways, or will we call out to the Lord?

The name of the Lord is a strong tower of refuge, deliverance, provision, wisdom, and so much more. Living in the anointing of God’s Spirit is the best place to live and the best way to live!

“Lord Jesus, anoint my life this day, for your glory.”
