The Prayer of Agreement

1 Chronicles 14-15; Psalms 132; Matthew 18

“’I tell you the truth, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.’”

Matthew 18:18-20

There is significant authority and power in the prayer of agreement. Our Father in heaven invites us to agree with his kingdom-will on earth as it is in heaven. We agree with both our words and our actions in response to God’s Word to us. When we agree with other Christ-followers in the will of God, we release God’s Spirit to work in our midst, confirming his Word. The enemy understands the impact of agreement and fights to keep our faith private and isolated.

Who is God inviting us to pray in agreement with today and for which promises and circumstances?

We were created to live in agreement with God and others for God’s glory.

“Lord Jesus, your Word is my authority. I pray for others to agree with today, for your glory.”
