All Things

Proverbs 30-31; Psalms 33; Ephesians 1

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ…And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.”

Ephesians 1:3, 22, 23

One of the blessings we have received in Christ is that he has all authority. We have clarity about who is our leader! When Jesus commands us to go and make disciples of all nations, he is speaking as one who has been given all authority. When we pray, we are invited as Christ’s body to pray in agreement with Christ’s kingdom coming and his will being done on earth as it is in heaven. It is the Church which is to express the fullness of Christ’s presence and blessings here on earth through our union with Christ who is in heaven.

In what ways should Christ’s authority in our lives and in his Church change the way we pray, serve, live, and approach the future?

“Lord Jesus, I trust you to guide and direct my life and your Church, for your glory.”
