Clarity

 2 Kings 21; 2 Chronicles 33; John 4

“’My food,’ said Jesus, ‘is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work…open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest.’”

John 4:34, 35

Jesus was clear about who had sent him, so he was also clear about his purpose for living in this world. When we have clarity about whose we are, we will have clarity about our mission in the world around us. We can walk by communities that are spiritually thirsty and not see them because we’re not clear on why we are there. The satisfaction of living for God’s pleasure and glory filled Jesus’ life and it can fill our lives as well if we will fully surrender our heart and will to him. He will soften our hearts to people and open our eyes to see them as he sees them. The Lord of the harvest is still looking for eleventh-hour workers.

“Lord of the harvest, allow me to see and respond to the harvest today, for your glory.”
