God’s Cleansing Fountain
Zechariah 13-14; Psalms 147; Luke 15
“On that day a fountain will be opened to the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, to cleanse them from sin and impurity.”
Zechariah 13:1
Without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness for sin.
What kind of fountain did Zechariah see opening up in Jerusalem?
Jesus the Messiah gave his life and shed his blood in Jerusalem as the last sacrifice for sins. At the well in Samaria, he offered the woman living water, so she would not have to keep thirsting. Jesus is the well of salvation for the house of David, inhabitants of Jerusalem, and for every other nation on earth. Jesus alone is able to cleanse us from our sins, wash our lives clean from all impurity, and put new, clean robes of righteousness on us. We anticipate the day when this revelation will be received by the house of David and all Israel will be saved.
“Lord Jesus, thank you for your cleansing fountain and the blood you gave for my atonement and forgiveness, for your glory.”
