Responding with Faith

 Job 23-24; Mark 11-12

“I have not departed from the commands of his lips; I have treasured the words of his mouth more than my daily bread.”

Job 23:12

“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”

Mark 11:24

When God speaks to us, do we respond in faith to his Word?

Job treasured God’s words to him more than food. Jesus cursed the fig tree because there were only leaves and no evidence of emerging fruit.

Do we have the evidence of faith in how we respond to God’s Word to us?

Without faith we cannot please God. The impressive, large, green, fig leaves are worth nothing if there is no fruit.

“Faith is the evidence of things hoped for and the substance of things not yet seen.”

Hebrews 11:1

“…faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.”

Romans 10:17

Are we listening, treasuring, and responding in faith to the words of Christ?

“Lord Jesus, you are the Living Word through your indwelling Holy Spirit - the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Fill me with the fruit of faith, for your glory.”
